Supporting Breastfeeding in the Workplace Benefits Everyone!

Know Your Rights!

In California, all workplaces, regardless of size, are required "to provide a reasonable amount of break time" and "make reasonable efforts to provide the employee with the use of a room or other location, other than a toilet stall, in close proximity to the employee’s work area, for the employee to express milk in private." (Labor Code 1030-33).

For more information on laws that protect breastfeeding and what to do if you are not being given time and space to express your breastmilk at work, click here.
